Custom art can make a thoughtful Secret Santa gift, but only when it fits the agreed spending limit and your relationship with the recipient. A portrait is more personal than a generic office present. Check the rules before collecting photographs or choosing a miniature, especially when the exchange is anonymous.
Start with the actual spending cap
Compare the current product price for the exact size and finish with the office limit. Include delivery and any approved extras in the total. If a custom sculpture exceeds the cap, choose a different present; quietly overspending can make an otherwise friendly exchange uncomfortable. A separate group gift is another possibility only if the organisers agree.
Know when a portrait is too personal
A colleague who openly enjoys figurines may appreciate a stylised miniature. Someone you barely know may prefer a less personal gift. Avoid using private social media images, romantic photos or jokes about appearance. Ask a suitable organiser for guidance if you cannot obtain an appropriate photo without crossing a boundary.
Check the style and the physical features
Chibi, bobblehead and collectible-style listings describe different visual directions. Review the selected page rather than assuming that every miniature has a moving head or the same customisation options. If a mechanical feature matters, ask explicitly. The gift should match what the listing and seller confirm, not a category name alone.
Use the office exchange date as your deadline
Secret Santa exchanges often happen before the holiday break. Provide that date when asking about production and delivery, and leave time to inspect the gift. Do not describe a custom portrait as a last-minute solution unless Artiqra confirms the schedule for your specific order.
